The United Science 2: Updates from waijin

hi guys.. i just finished my last paper... feeling exhausted.. the battle is really long.. finally... there goes my 1st yr in NUS... hard work, stress n everything... would like to say sumthing bout wat i had experienced so far.. this sem is really an enriching one.. coz i only took 2 core modules.. n 4 non-core modules. i learnt law, accounting, marketing and physics(-.-').. physics is really torturing.. i understand how boon feels... haha..

i would like to summarize wat i have done(in extra curricular activities) for this sem..

firstly, it's my hall's dance production. ok.. just a brief explanation.. our hall dance production is a production consist of acting and dancing(it's like a musical play).. with story line of course.. it's held in NUS University cultural centre(like a theatre).. sell tickets and raise fund for the disabled.. everything in this production(sets, costumes, planning, lightings, stage managing etc) every single thing.. is done by us.. so i am in the costume team.. my working hours every nite is fr 7 to 11pm.. for 2 months.. and during december that month, basically is whole day working.. it's crazy.. but its a great experience.. when everything was over.. i teared.. coz it's really great.. the respond was great.. the dancers were great.. everything was just perfect.. ok i shall say no more.. let's see sum photos..

end of 2nd dance.. with the 'singer' again.. ok i noe it's confusing.. let me explain.. the 2nd dance is basically consist of 3 mtv clips.. 3 songs.. with 3 different 'singers'.. of course they dun sing.. they just act like they r singing.. and y r the gals' costumes different? yea.. they basically wear the pink tube, then wear the gold vest over the pink tube and wear the kimono over the gold vest.. and they just take off quickly after each mtv clips.. very fast.. no space for delaying.. how to take off? all those costumes r fastened only with velcro.. no zip, no button.. just velcro... amazing huh... their speed is amazing.. now let's look at the 3rd dance..

ok.. i zoom in this gal is to let u all see how tedious is this set of costume..we made it.. out of cloth.. swt.. each gal has different size.. ask them to come for fitting.. and alter according to each dancer... ok.. the next photo is also 4th dance.. same concept.. wear and take off... next one is zombie.. considered as 4th dance also..

see the skirt? i tear them into pieces wit my hands.. cool eh? haha... tat's a good way of releasing stress.. hahaha...

next the 5th dance.. we didnt made the costumes.. wait.. we made.. after finishing the whole thing, the choreographer said dun want.. -.-" and she borrowed them from her previous junior college... wasted our energy and time.. n the cloth...

the malay/indon dance... but after that they will transform.. this is the dance wit most dancers.. but they r good.. very neat.. though many ppl.. coz the choreo is scary.. ahhahaa....

ok... next the 2nd last dance... the modern dance.. those hip hop la.. hehe.. sexy gals..

secondly, choir.. i was in soprano of my hall choir.. i noe this sounds weird, coz i dun even noe how to sing well.. haha.. sing k paksa paksa can la.. but sing in choir. fuiyoh.. really difficult.. the peak performance of my hall choir is to perform in University cultural centre again.. it was a combination of six hall's choir and acapella grp... here are some photos i took at the backstage...

ok.. so u see the lights behind me rite.. looks like in those movie rite.. where the artist make up backstage.. it's really like tat... the lights are necessary so that when the artist make up, the environment will be like on stage... cool yea.. but very hot.. -.-"

ok.. those are the glamour ones... now let's look at my voluntary service.. if u have been reading our blog since last time, u'll noe i'm in the elderly service.. during the chinese new year, we had a special project. we brought out all the elderly ones to a restaurant(chinese 'jiu lou') to have a sort of reunion dinner with our sponsors and all the members.. it looks easy.. but to bring them there is a difficult task.. some of them have walking problems, some of them have eyesight problem.. so before and after dinner, all of us have some difficulties in 'transporting' them.. but it's all worth it.. when u see smiles on their face.. coz of the good food(actually not really good due to budget constraint).. but they r happy... we 'lou sang' and talked talked talked.. tat day it was one of the member's birthday.. so we celebrated together as well.. ok. let's look at sum photos now..
